Annual Meeting Minutes
The Prairie Woods Homeowner Associational meeting was held March 2, 2009 at 7:00 pm at Park Place Church. President Debby Werth called the meeting to order. The agenda and minutes were available for residents to read. Debby asked for any additions to the agenda. Connie Gear moved and Dana Plagman seconded that the minutes be approved. Peggy Bennett, Treasurer, presented the financial report. Connie Geier moved and Eric Leitzel seconded that the financial report be approved. New items included in the proposed 2009 budget were Legal Fees, and Clean up Event. Peggy also reported that four properties are currently in foreclosures or ready for sheriff’s sale.
There are nine rental properties in our association. In the current covenants, no rules are stated concerning rental property. This issue was discussed and determined that discrimination would be a factor if rentals were not allowed. Officer Tejeda, our community officer, should be contacted when residents have a concern about property or people in the neighborhood.
The Clean-up Event generated 30 truckloads of debris hauled. Clean-up will be done again when necessary.
Some homeowners do not mow in a timely manner. Mowing behind property fences, and charging homeowners was discussed.
A donation to Park Place of $100 was voted for allowing us to meet in the facility.
Kristy Woodworth moved and Connie Gear seconded that the Proposed Budget for 2009 be accepted.
The new street construction on Maize was discussed. It will begin this spring and should take seven months to complete. Maize will be four lanes wide with a turning lane. While under construction, traffic will be directed one way south, and then one way north. Asking for temporary speed limit signs on Haskell from Maize to Lark was discussed.
This will be the fifth year for the Easter Egg Hunt. It will be April 4, 2009. Dana asked for help placing the eggs at 12:15 that afternoon. The Hunt will begin at 1:00 pm.
The garage sale banner will be placed at entry to neighborhood the weekend prior to sale.
The neighborhood party was registered in 2008 and was a success.
Curb addresses were painted. Some residents thought that reflective paint should have been used.
Peggy stated that a Neighborhood Leader Summit would be March 14, 2009, from 9:00 am to noon at the Orchard Recreation Center.
The meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm.
