Sheri Irsik, President, called the meeting to order. She introduced the new Board to the Association. Sheri then introduced Officer Davidson who was our Community Officer. Officer Davidson reported he had been visiting with Sheri and the City about improving the lighting in the entryways of our areas. He indicated a brighter light could be put into the street lights near the entry islands. Everyone present thought it was a good idea but some individuals were afraid it might disturb the homeowners closest to the lights. Officer Davidson said brighter lights could be installed on a temporary basis and if homeowners complained, they could be taken back out and replaced with what was currently there. He volunteered to speak with the homeowners near those lights to let them know what would be happening. After a few more miscellaneous questions, Officer Davidson left the meeting. We appreciated him coming.
Dana Plagmann gave a report on what was included in the 2006 budget. Sheri reported on the activities scheduled for 2006.
Dana announced that all but 67 homeowners had paid their 2006 dues to-date and we were ahead in terms of where the Association usually was at this time of year in getting those collected. She said we had done a drawing to encourage homeowners to get their dues in and John Geothe of 10034 Haskell was drawn as the winner. He could not attend the meeting but Debby would get his gift certificate to him. Dana said she and Debby would be getting out 2nd notices the first of February.
Debby spent time on the results of the survey which all board members had seen. She would include the results in the next newsletter. What was very interesting is that what most homeowners would like is a website. To encourage individuals to return their survey, an incentive of two homeowners not having to pay their 2006 homeowners dues was offered. Stephanie Daas (10603 Haskell) was notified as a winner so she attended the meeting to pick up her reimbursed dues. Edd & Cheri Downey (10322 W. Stafford) were the 2nd winners.
Debby reported that she hadn’t had time to go through all the surveys yet to put together the Child Care or Association Directories. She’d get to that as soon as she could.
Sheri brought to the Association’s attention that we did have a bid on an Association website from Peggy Bennett. After reviewing the associated costs, the Association asked the Board to check into other options. The Association was really hoping to find someone who would volunteer their time in an effort to make the website very affordable for the Association. The Board agreed to do so.
Sheri also reported that she had been approached by a nearby neighborhood association to see if we would partner with them with clean-up days. With more individuals involved, the two associations may be able to get curb-side pickup. Sheri will continue to check into this possibility.
With no further information to come before the group, the meeting adjourned.
